How I Use My Graph Patterns With the Popcorn Stitch

*Keep in mind that any approximate dimensions given in my filet crochet pattern apply only to using the graphs as a single color filet crochet pattern. Using them with alternate methods will adjust the size and may require additional creativity or skill level adding extra rows or borders to maintain targeted dimension ratios.

How to make a popcorn stitch:

1. Work 5 double crochet (dc) stitches in the same stitch.

2. Drop the loop from your hook.

3. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group.

4. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.

FOLLOW ALL GRAPH ROWS (1-7) RIGHT TO LEFT

→ AFTER CROCHETING A GRAPH ROW, CHAIN 1, TURN, SINGLE CROCHET ACROSS, CHAIN 3, TURN, AND START THE NEXT GRAPH ROW RIGHT TO LEFT

Multiply the number of squares in the first row x 4 to determine the starting chain. (5 x 4 = 20)

Chain 20

→Chain one to turn. Single crochet across. (20 SC) Left to right
Chain three to turn (counts as first double crochet in row 1)
